ABOUT KATHLEEN PERRY
Kathleen Perry, E - RYT, CYT

Kathleen Perry (Kathi) was born on spiritual ground in Ketchikan, Alaska.  She grew up on the West Coast, living in Washington State and California.  After moving to Michigan with her family in 1991, Kathi discovered the gift of yoga and knew she wanted to share it with others as a teacher.  She became certified by Jonny Kest in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, PreNatal and Healthy Backs yoga.  She has studied with many great teachers including Manju Jois, David Williams,Tim Miller, David Swenson, Doug Swenson, Rod Stryker, Anna Forrest, Kino MacGregor, Simon Park, and many others.
In 2002, she moved to Franklin, Tennessee with her family.  After her unsuccessful search for a local yoga studio to practice Ashtanga/Vinyasa as she knew and loved, Kathi decided to open her own yoga studio.  In May of 2004 Franklin Yoga Center was born, where she taught classes, workshops, and facilitated Middle Tennessee's first Ashtanga/Vinyasa teacher training courses registered with Yoga Alliance.  Just five years later, June 2009, Kathi wanted to focus more on the "yoga" and less on the "business" so she could spend more time with her family.

She now specializes in her Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training course, workshops, as well as teaching yoga in Middle Tennessee.  Kathi especially loves traveling around the country studying yoga and meditation with her favorite teachers, new and "old",  so upon her return she can share it with her students.

Kathi enjoys teaching in a style that safely leads students to their edge (allowing students to grow), while maintaining the integrity of yoga, all with a dose of West Coast love!

Her family includes a loving husband of almost 25 years, three beautiful children (24, 22, and 17), two frisky dogs and one sun loving cat.  Kathi and her adventurous spirit has taken her to the stage of the Miss USA pageant as a finalist, to the sky's as a flight attendant with Alaska Airlines and private jets, and to the football fields as an NFL Cheerleader.  When she's not in the yoga studio, Kathi enjoys reading, traveling, bike riding, gardening, laughing out loud and having fun with her family and friends!.

She is a member of Yoga Alliance, the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and has served as President and Vice President of the Yoga Society of Nashville.
